Coming in 2023, the inaugural Canberra Awards are set to shine a spotlight on those who make an outstanding contribution to our city – celebrating their work and inspiring others.
The Canberra Awards will recognise and celebrate the achievements of individuals, groups or organisations across seven categories:
Global Canberra Award – celebrating achievement and excellence in elevating or exporting Canberra, its industries, knowledge, innovations or other contribution to global attention or influence.
City Visionary Award – celebrating those who have made a significant contribution to the evolution of Canberra’s physical environment.
Innovation Award – for those who are contributing to achievement of, or who have achieved, innovation in any field, industry or endeavour from their base of operation in Canberra.
Community Wellbeing Award – recognising and supporting sustainable communities within Canberra, with a particular focus on equity and inclusion, and general wellbeing.
Cultural Award – for artists and artisans, makes and creators, this category seeks to recognise excellence in bringing cultural richness to our city.
Unsung Hero – providing recognition for those in the Canberra community who may be quietly achieving, influencing or progressing in any field of endeavour and who may not be seeking recognition but who deserve it.
Future Canberra Award – elevating Canberra’s future generation of leaders to the attention of the city and its communities, regardless of the anticipated sphere of influence.
